COURTMAN Background
The legal profession has yet to embrace new technology to the extent that other professions have. Hillhead Associates believe they have identified a significant gap in the market that currently exists in software provision for legal practices.

In 1993 new rules were introduced into the Scottish Legal Profession. These rules force legal practices to follow a rigid timetable in the preparation and execution of civil court work. If any of the critical dates are missed, the case is effectively lost. If a practice does lose a case in such circumstances, the litigants are entitled to sue the company involved. It is therefore vital that practices establish strict procedures to ensure deadlines are meet. This has proved to be very complex and time consuming.

COURTMAN was developed to meet these requirements and was warmly received by the Scottish Legal Profession. Version 3 of the application built on this initial success, and included the add-on product COURTDOCS which automatically generates all standard court forms.

The latest release (3.4) ensures the application is compatible with Windows XP and Office 2003.

A new release is currently in preparation to meet the requirements of the Scottish Legal Aid Board.
